ChatGPT is the assistant almost everyone tried first. This page is not trying to talk you out of it: it says what we can prove, what we cannot prove, and which profile each option suits.
In one sentence: ChatGPT is far ahead on reach and ecosystem, and its entry-level Go plan, at €8 a month, comes close to our own prices; Surikat still costs less per person, from €3.00 including tax per person per month, processed in Europe, with none of your conversations ever reused to train a model and nothing to opt out of for that. On this page we publish no figure about ChatGPT that we could not read ourselves or obtain directly from the operator.

A scale nobody comes close to
The study “How People Use ChatGPT” measured 18 billion messages a week across 700 million users in July 2025. That scale turns into tutorials, third-party integrations and shared experience that we do not have, and will not have for a long time.

Flagship models that appear in public leaderboards
The public LMArena leaderboard lists the flagship models of the major vendors. None of the three open-weight models we serve appears on it. We therefore cannot show you a quality comparison in figures, and we would rather leave the cell empty than fill it with a score that is not ours.

A high-capacity Pro plan
Above Plus, at €23 a month, the vendor lists a Pro plan starting at €103 a month, presented as “unlimited, subject to compliance with our usage policies”. If what you need is a volume we do not serve, that offer exists there and not here. Advanced reasoning models, for their part, are not available on either Free or Go.

The Family plan gives 4 private accounts, each with its own history, for €3.00 including tax per person per month. The Solo plan is €4.50 including tax a month.

Nothing to switch off to stay out of training
On all four of OpenAI's plans, Pro included at €103 a month and up, an opt-out is available to stop your exchanges from training a model, which means you have to find it in the settings. With us there is nothing to switch off: your exchanges never feed training.

Processing that never leaves Europe
Your conversations and the model inference stay on European infrastructure, hosted in France. Nothing is sent outside the European Union to be computed, and none of your exchanges ever reaches a model publisher.

On the Family plan every member keeps their own conversations, memory and quota. Whoever pays manages billing and seats, never anyone else's usage or content.

Who each one is right for
Choose ChatGPT if
- you want the best-known assistant, with the most tutorials, extensions and third-party integrations;
- you want the most capable models on the market for hard tasks, and price comes second;
- you want to try without paying: we have no free tier at all;
- an individual plan at €8 a month suits you: their Go plan comes close to our own prices, even though the page notes it may include ads.
Choose us if
- you want to share one subscription across several people without sharing the conversations;
- you want your data processed in Europe, with no exception;
- you do not want to hunt for a setting so that your exchanges never train a model;
- your budget is a few euros a month, not a few tens of euros.

Worth noting: the amounts read on chatgpt.com/fr-FR/pricing on 28 July 2026 carry no mention of tax, excluding or including. We do not guess the tax basis and we do not convert anything: we show what the page shows. Our own amounts stay in euros, including tax. The “where conversations are processed” cell stays empty: OpenAI's privacy policy pages answered our requests with HTTP 403 on 28 July 2026, and the pricing page does not say either.
Every price and every policy quoted on this page was read on the vendors' own pages on 28 July 2026, and each one carries its source. This information changes often: check with the vendor before deciding. If you spot a line that has gone stale, write to us and we will fix it.
Does Surikat use ChatGPT?
No. We call no OpenAI programming interface. We serve open-weight models, executed on our own European infrastructure. None of your data reaches OpenAI.
How much does ChatGPT cost compared with Surikat?
Our plans run from €3.00 including tax per person per month (Family, 4 private accounts) to €9.99 including tax a month (Pro). On chatgpt.com/fr-FR/pricing, read on 28 July 2026, OpenAI lists a free Free plan, Go at €8 a month, Plus at €23 a month and Pro from €103 a month, without saying whether these amounts exclude or include tax. The Go plan is the one closest to our own prices.
